Biography of the Managing Director and Principal Investigator

Stanley Maphosa is a science diplomat, science advocate, science advisor and science communicator. He is experienced in strategic partnerships with government departments, science councils, private sector, parliaments and civil society-nationally, regionally, Pan African, and globally. Stanley’s work also covers women and gender  as well as young people’s activities. He has been overseeing 43 African countries under The World Academy of Science in Africa Stanley held several leadership roles in World Vision International for 12 years, worked as a schoolteacher for 10 years in urbans as well as in rural schools.   He was also  lecturer in Journalism and as a youth Christian radio program producer for Transworld Radio program called “Climbing Higher. He is a seasoned development executive, advocacy executive and humanitarian who has experience in South Africa and Southern Africa. Currently studying for a PhD in Social Science at Fort Hare University, Besides being  the Founder and Managing Director of S3R Consulting, he  is also the publisher of the Christian Business  and Services Directory (CBSD) and a President of ABC. Stanley is a  Disaster Management Professional and member of the Disaster Management Institution of Southern Africa (DMISA), a member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), a member of the Association of Christian Media (ACM)

Master of Development Studies (UNISA); Post Graduate Diploma in Humanitarian Assistance (Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine); BA Honours in Development Studies (UZ); BA in English and Communication Studies (UZ); Diploma in Primary Education (UZ); Certificate in Disaster Risk Management (University of Cape Town),Certificate in Public Policy Analysis, Development and Implementation (Stellenbosch School of Public Leadership) and Certificate in Government Science Advice (International Network of Government Science Advice)
